Daventry Town Centre’s first Vision was adopted in 2004 and has enabled the Council to attract circa £50 million of investment in development over the past fifteen years, much of which would not have materialised had the Council, in partnership with the community, not developed the plan.
The previous vision helped deliver circa
£50 million of investment including:
Cinema and Restaurant
Mulberry Place represents a new four screen cinema complex, restaurants and a public square with splash fountains, just behind Daventry’s High Street. When complete, the cinema will be operated by The Arc Cinema, offering luxury recliner seating and cutting-edge screening technology.
Abbey Retail Park and Working Men’s Club
This project represented the first phase of regeneration plans for Daventry when it opened in 2009. The facility provides a range of larger retail goods outlets, a Working Men’s Club and additional parking for visitors and workers.
The iCon Innovation Centre
The iCon provides a major resource for local events and is a national centre of excellence in sustainable construction. Within this award-winning 4000sqm structure are 60 business incubator units, a conference room for up to 300 people, exhibition space, meeting rooms and a café. Funded by the East Midlands Development Agency, the European Regional Development Fund and West Northamptonshire Development Corporation.
This included Daventry Hill School, specialising in special needs education, a new campus for Northampton College, Monksmoor Park CE Primary School and the former Daventry UTC, which is now part of the Parker EACT School Campus.
